froknowsphoto.com I got to spend the day with Zack Arias when he held his OneLight workshop at my studio/apartment. What an amazing teacher, photographer and person. This guy is all about teaching, doing better and passing on the knowledge. After a long 17 hour day I asked Zack if he would be able to do a 5 min portrait of me to post on the site for all of you guys to see. We started shooting right around 2 AM and Zack was able to hammer out some AMAZING portraits. I think you will be able to pick up some lighting nuggets from Zack during this video. You will see him go from one or two speedlights to using three. Zack is a master with speedlights, it was truly an honor to get to pose for a portrait with him. Please Subscribe www.youtube.com

Following on in his families tradition of pottery and ceramics, Mañosa dedicates his style to being the anti potter; creating pieces that defy the laws of ceramic physics and delight us with their sense of humor and grace. Lzf has been looking for the opportunity to work with him for quite some time, and now with the hummingbird, we found the way to do it. Mañosa has created a flock of hummingbirds that will come and suckle the nectar of our luscious lights in Vegas. Desert flowers and fleeting glimpses os humming light !!

As a Long Island female boudoir photographer, I work with my clients to bring their fantasies to life. Whatever you envision, we can create! Together we’ll come up with a set concept that will result in the beautiful, tasteful, intimate photos you will cherish for the rest of your life! It’s all about creating images that capture who YOU are today, right now. And if you’re open to a few creative ideas, I’ll share some with you. It will most certainly be the most fun you’ve had in a while! Bio in Brief Susan Eckert is a former painter, sketcher and is an artist and mother of three boys (including three year old twins). She loves being a woman and thinks women are amazing — our power to bring life into the world, the multiple hats and roles we play, our quiet strength. Her favorite part about shooting boudoir are the moments when women first see their images-the tears, the joy, the smiles, the amazement that it is the client herself looking so beautiful and staring back at her, the awareness that these are images she will look back on when she is 100 years old with pride! Most women start off doing this for their significant others, but after the experience, they all agree-this is the perfect gift to give oneself! Pearl Jam – Light Years

2000′s “Binaural” & 2004′s “Reviewmirror” I’ve used hammers made of wood I have played games with pieces and rules I have deciphered tricks at the bar But now you’re gone, I haven’t figured out why I’ve come with riddles, and jokes about war I figured out numbers and what they’re for I’ve understood feelin’s and I’ve understood words But how could you be taken away? And where ever you’ve gone, and where ever we might go It don’t seem fair, today just disappeared Your light’s reflected, now Reflected from afar We were but stones, your light made us stars With every breath, awakened regrets Back pages and days that only could’ve been spent Together, but we were, miles apart Every inch between us becomes light years now No time to be void, or save up on life Oh, you gotta spend it all And where ever you’ve gone, and where ever we might go It don’t seem fair, you seem to like it here Your light’s reflected now Reflected from afar We were but stones, your light made us stars And where ever you’ve gone, and where ever we might go It don’t seem fair, today just disappeared Your light’s reflected now Reflected from afar We were but stones, your light made us stars.

Theme from Blowup (1966) Antonioni/ Hancock
Click here to learn how you can create multiple new revenue streams from your photography
Blowup (1966) is a film by Michaelangelo Antonioni set in the world of 1960s glamour photography when London was at its fashionable height. On the surface the story is a murder-mystery but as the plot progresses it becomes a mystery on a deeper level as Antonioni highlights how subjective and unreliable all perception is in making sense of the world. In this sense the theme is timeless and extends outside its 1960s origins to any period. I think it’s a rather bleak film film that people tend to love or hate but it was also very influential and has to be among my favourites.

Professional photographers Bob Krist and Joe McNally are featured in what is far-and-away the best resource to date on Nikon’s speedlight system and how to use CLS effectively. It starts with Krist in the studio teaching you the basics — and nuts-and-bolts control how-to’s — then goes out into the field. There, Bob takes on the roll as the color man to Joe’s lead as they work together to pull off a variety of sophisticated shots using Nikon speedlights. Congrats to Nikon for significantly dialing up the educational portion video as compared to the “Speed of Light” DVD of a few years ago. Yes, it is specific to the Nikon system and designed to help sell gear. But the educational content is there — they show everything you would need to know. (Uploaded with permission from Nikon.)

Maya Tutorial Three Point Lighting for Maya 2011
Click here to learn how you can create multiple new revenue streams from your photography
A SimplyMaya.com tutorial. Check the site for Maya tutorials. Lighting is essential when you want to display your models properly. In this tutorial we’ll show you how to light up your finished models with this classic Hollywood lighting scheme, which is commonly applied in 3D as it lends depth to a potentially flat subject. When lighting an object in Maya and rendering it out your goal is to convey as much of the 3D shape that is present in your model over to a 2D image, and placing your lights in the correct places will help you to do this. Three-Point Lighting is a good starting point if lighting is a new field to you, and using this scheme you’ll see that you can get some nice results in a quick and easy way. Three-point lighting is one of the parts in our latest tutorial “Lighting Basics in Maya 2011″ which can be found here should you be interested in learning more about lighting in Maya. The scene file with the T-Rex model used in this part is included with the full tutorial.
